Psyonix has announced the next free and paid DLC for Rocket League. First, the hit soccer-with-cars game is getting a new underwater-themed map called AquaDome. This cool-looking arena is set in a transparent glass dome underwater, with sharks swimming by overhead and jellyfish floating around.
In addition to AquaDome, Psyonix is releasing two new paid cars, the Proteus and the Triton. These will be available for $2 each at launch in October, which is also when the AquaDome arena comes out. You can see the new map and cars in the trailer below.
Psyonix also announced today that Rocket League has now reached 21 million players, up from 20 million. However, sales are nowhere near that mark, standing at around 7 million by the developer's latest count.
In other news about Rocket League, Psyonix said earlier this week that it is considering releasing a PS4 Pro patch for the game, though nothing has been decided at this stage. Check out this GameSpot feature to see every game that is and isn't getting a PS4 Pro patch.
Rocket League's latest update came earlier this month, introducing the over-the-top Rumble mode, which stirs things up by introducing a series of power-ups. The new AquaDome arena and cars will be available on all platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
